“ I will get there early...I hope. Follow the directions on what to do to give testimony. ”
Everyone who has not already testified about the Great Lakes Water Compact is invited to do so this Wednesday, 5/14, at 11 am at the Ohio Statehouse (South Hearing Room).
I spoke with one of Sen. Grendell's aides, and he said that he gets the impression that the legislators are getting ready to act on the Compact sometime soon. This coming Wednesday *may* be your last chance to testify and make YOUR voice heard on this issue.
Below is an email from Linda Ligman that gives lots of details, and, if you're not feeling prepared to testify, will quickly bring you up to speed on the issue. I have also attached a FAQ sheet that will provide useful information. Here's some info about the Statehouse and how to get there:
The hearing is indeed OPEN, and anyone can come to testify, pro or con.
You need not put your testimony in writing to submit to the record, but the aid said this is always helpful when the legislators go back to review different points that people made on the issues. (So, since some of our legislators need good ways to argue against this thing, lets give them the ammunition they need in those letters. C'mon Revolution people, you all are some of the best internet researchers in the world. We have a handful of Ohio senators trying to hold back the United Nations. They need our help!
So if you want to appear and tell the senators how you feel about the loss OR FOREIGN REGULATION of your private property water rights personally, It would be a good idea to write your testimony in the same form you would, for instance, if you would write a letter to your representative, and bring your letter to submit.
This makes things easy, because it's just like reading your letter over the microphone to make sure they heard you, and then submitting your letter to the record so your senator can read it again later, if you had some good points to make, and he or she wants to look in to them, or use them.
BE SURE TO MAKE 30 COPIES TO BRING WITH YOU!!!
